It takes a village...to make a village

We’ve got some big challenges right now in our society and we’d like to make a difference. Right NOW. There’s an epidemic of disconnection and it’s not always clear what to DO.

But times of crisis are not the time to stay apart. The reality is we’re all in this together…for the long haul. Strengthening civility is a critically important thing to do. Right now.

Research shows that what actually works to reconnect us is compassion, empathy, innovation, collaboration. And we need spaces to practice this.

What does this have to do with Warm Springs?

Well, as a PLACE, Warm Springs has been about peaceful gathering for a very long time.

From the use of the springs by indigenous people, then early Mormon settlers, to municipal pools that many still fondly remember, to the well-loved Children’s Museum, the area has served as a vibrant gathering place for hundreds of years.

And all along, the Warm Springs Alliance community has been about healing, mending bridges, honoring each other, nature, and history.

So this isn’t just about bringing back a hot spring. It’s about bringing us back to each other, back to connection with nature and back to our kinder selves, more and more often.

It’s about gathering in ways that grow connection and belonging within our community. Right now.

Thousands of people want this to happen...

“Revitalizing Warm Springs and having the unique and irreplaceable resource of a hot springs right in the city and available for the community would bring the most value and quality of life to Salt Lake and its citizens.”

Lana N.

“We could have a beautiful community space and soak in hot springs right in the city. Why would we not do that?!”

Leslie P.

“There’s a natural warm spring not even 5 minutes from downtown and people don’t even know about it!? This would be extremely successful if reactivated.”

Lauren T.

“I would like to see the Springs restored. It is an amazing natural resource and a historic place. Our community needs this!”

Daniel S.

“The perfect combo of nature/history/architecture and huge potential for a community focal point. It would be an absolute shame to lose this. I have hoped for many years this site would be shined up to its previous glory.”

Polly M.

“I want to see a unique cultural heritage site preserved and reopened for public use!”

Stefanie N.

“This is one of the last historic Native American vestiges left in the SL valley. I would not like to see this piece of history and a place of medicine lost.”

Brett C.

“Preserve history with a useable warm spring in the city. Win,win.”

Karol C.

“This place was sacred to indigenous peoples long before the pioneers came; later the hot springs became an all-inclusive community asset for Salt Lake City’s residents and visitors alike. Why not again? These efforts for renewed access to the healing waters are both impressive and encouraging.”

Bonnie M.

“Please conserve this beautiful property, it’s the right thing to do!”

Michael S.

“We should use the spring water to it’s full potential for all city residence. This place is special and we should make it usable once again for everyone.”

“I grew up in this building while the Children’s Museum was there. Renovating is a perfect way to not only keep those memories alive for myself and many others, but also to keep a piece of history important to the city. A warm spring will bring people to a very neglected area of the city.”

Ainsley B.

“Preserve this historic site and create a public good.”

Leif J.

“It’s a beautiful historic building that can be put to good use in the community. Not every town has a warm spring! Let’s celebrate our good fortune, not destroy it.”

Marjorie M.

“Every day SLC tears down another landmark, it loses its greatness. This is an opportunity for a healing center like none other. It has always been my dream for this to reopen and come alive.”

Shelly H.

“We need to protect and restore nature’s treasures. It’s important for eco-balance. Natural health resource like hot springs is very valuable and unrepeatable.”

“This unique building has an important history and powerful potential that is much needed and currently missing in our SLC community. I want our city and officials to support Warm Springs Alliance and the project to make this into a central space for community connection on all levels.”

Carmell C.
